Health Care South Sudan is run on an entirely voluntary basis by its founders and trustees with the integrity and commitment to ensure all funds received are delivered and used efficiently and effectively on the ground.
Mike spent his career in the international oil industry including time in Pakistan, India and Pacific rim countries. He has been involved with the Diocesan Sudan Medical Link for over a decade and has been Chairman of Health Care South Sudan since its inception. Mike has visited South Sudan on multiple occasions and has considerable first-hand experience and personal knowledge of our partners.
After retiring from full time Medicine Alison worked in South Sudan for some months in primary care clinics, supporting their development and training staff. Working on the front line in the villages, Alison understands how important it is to promote good public and community health through teaching and training the local populace.
Mark helped to develop intensive care (ICU) as a recognised speciality within the National Health Service, with Consultant posts at Guy’s Hospital London, and the University Hospital Wales in Cardiff. After 15 years as ICU Clinical Director in Wales, Mark used his strategic skills as Director of Cancer Services, and as Director of Primary Care.
Before retirement, Ginny’s work involved nursing and supporting people who had suffered a disablement and needed help to manage and overcome it. She now helps to raise funds, for people who live in South Sudan, where there is an urgent need to introduce and enable simple public health measures, such as the hand wash scheme.
Mark has spent twelve years working in communications and corporate affairs. He helps Health Care South Sudan raise South Sudan affairs with political stakeholders, alongside governance responsibilities as a Trustee.
Matt has eight years of experience working in communications and engagement roles in the public and private sector. He helps to raise awareness amongst the public and stakeholders of the work Health Care South Sudan is supporting.
